Plan a cemetery walk
Trier Main Cemetery has several precisely located cultural, architectural or biographical points that can inform a self-planned visit. They are presented as independent subjects, not as a prescribed sequence.
- Ehrenmal
- Funeral hall
- Regiments-Ehrenmal
- Cemetery chapel 2
These are independent orientation points. Find them on the map below; the information defines no order, distance or duration.
Infrastructure on the grounds
- Toilets 1: Mapped as an accessible toilet; check availability on site.
- Toilets 2
Infrastructure markers indicate position only. If access to a facility is essential, ask City of Trier – cemetery administration whether it will be available at the intended time.
Visiting framework
Daily 06:00–21:00 from 16 March to 14 October; daily 07:30–18:30 from 15 October to 15 March.
Use this information to choose when to visit and keep the relevant exit in mind. A particular grave cannot be inferred from the points above; obtain its section, row and grave number first.
Visit respectfully
Remain on paths intended for visitors at Trier Main Cemetery, keep clear of funerals and personal farewells, and do not touch monuments or planting. Photograph other people only with their consent. For a short-notice practical question, contact City of Trier – cemetery administration.
